No more scattered accounts – TGT self hosted single sign on is here!
We all concur that decentralization is a great thing, there are a lot of services and tools in the Fediverse or Fediverse-adjacent that we can self-host. It's a great thing unless you start using a lot of them and those services make you jump through hoops to connect to them, requiring an account for each one.
I want to post on Mastodon – I need a Mastodon account – but I also want to post photos on Pixelfed/Vernissage – I need a Pixelfed/Vernissage account too – and maybe streaming on Peertube or uploading videos on my channel – damn right I need another account – and create a community on Fluxer or Discourse – guess what, I need a Fluxer/Discourse account too!
Summing those up, to connect to six different self hosted services I'd need six different accounts.
While the talk about a centralized IdP (Identity Provider) in the Fediverse is still in the air, with lots of different voices, we at The Gamers' Tavern decided to act.
One Account To Rule Them All
Fortunately, many if not all the services we self-host, free for you to use, can be connected to a Single Sign On server. And so we decided to self-host one (NO WAY ;) )
Our SSO server can be accessed at https://login.gamerstavern.online and an account can be requested to let you enjoy all the different services we host: – Mastodon – Peertube – Discourse where our main community chat resides – Fluxer – experimental – Writefreely
Neat, huh? And it's self-hosted and privacy first, meaning we won't ever ask you anything unless we need it to create the account, nothing else, nothing more.
Feel free to reach out any member of the staff in case you have doubts
