Hey everyone!

Just updated our Fluxer instance so we had the latest bug fixes and improvements! This also allows for TGT SSO to work on the mobile client as well as the web client!

Also worth noting that our Fluxer instance is still in a trial phase at the moment, so there's is no guarantee we will continue with this platform going forward. Whilst it is a on trial though, we still want to keep it up to date to provide the best experience whilst using it!

Just a quick one to let you know we've updated our Fluxer instance. There was a new Fluxer API update that has enabled iOS TestFlight users to connect to self-hosted instances. Android beta testers can also do this now too!

No change log, so just.. you know.. trust us innit. 😄

Fluxer is here.

The old place has been totally gutted, all the rotting stuff stripped out, and refitted with shiny stuff and…I’ve lost my way with this analogy already. Anyway.

We told you that we were keeping our eye on stuff and genuinely, we have been. We just wanted them to be good enough that we could give it a good test out.

We set up a self hosted instance of Fluxer. As Alex discussed here, we’ve been watching this one closely as it seems to be the only one out of all of the Discord alternatives that have sprung up that offer what we wanted: self hosting, Discord like environment, good moderation capabilities, etc etc.

It is literally a Discord clone. Just without all the stalky stalky tracky tracky. Did I mention it is self hosted?! There's no tracking. No ads. No data harvesting. Just the way we like it.

It's been a few months since we decided to move to Discourse, after all the Discord sketchy ID verification and AI stuff, leaving our “original home”

We had to say goodbye to some, we had to hear others grumble, we had to discover how to manage a community in a forum-first environment, with a chat on the side, coming from a community in a chat-first environment and a forum on the side.

It wasn't easy, but it was necessary to protect members who held a lot of friendships and value from The Gamers' Tavern community, but didn’t want to have to sacrifice their privacy and values in order to maintain this.

Fortunately, we weren't the only one shaken by the AI and Age ID shenanigans by Discord. Many developers raced to get an alternative up and running, privacy focused and – hopefully – self-hostable.
